MABLETHORPE has a new Town Centre Manager to oversee local business, tourism and regeneration in the resort. Karen Froggatt has been appointed by East Lindsey District Council as Mablethorpe's Town Centre Manager and took up her post on September 26.

Karen said: "When I first visited Mablethorpe I recognised the charm of the town but at the same time the need to build on the excellent work done in the community to progress regeneration and investment opportunities.  Obviously attracting more visitors is a priority and encouraging local people to be even prouder of where they live."

In her first few weeks, Karen will be focusing on meeting local business people in Mablethorpe, Sutton on Sea and Trusthorpe to introduce herself and get an understanding of the business needs for the area.

She added: "Mablethorpe has a lot to offer and we need to build on the success of the Neighbourhood Management Programme and ensure the work I do compliments the other projects underway in the area."
