The crowds were out on the main promenade to watch demonstration rescues by the RNLI.  The Mablethorpe crew was joined by the Humber lifeboat and RAF from Waddington, who cast themselves adrift in a life raft out at sea to await rescue.  Mablethorpe inshore crew dealt admirably with a 'surfer' and dinghy owner who had become stranded. The M.V. Huntress, a new angling boat from Grimsby, was also in attendance.
