[b] [/
The Mermaid on the Pullover, the Train Engine on Station Park and several Beach Chalets between Mablethorpe and Sutton have been vandalised. The most disturbing act was the destruction done to the Trusthorpe Cemetary where the newly planted shrubs and trees were uprooted and set fire to on the top of one of the graves, The gravestones and Angel figures were broken and damaged. There was no respect shown for anyone.
I know the Police are unhappy about all of this vandalism and they have been critisised by some, but I know they are doing what they can, understaffed as they are at times. We must all be vigilant and report any incidents of a.s.b. or vandalism and make sure that we get a crime report number which will make the complaint official however smalll it may seem. That is the only way we can hope to get results. We can follow up the reports to make sure they are dealt with and must complain if we are not satisfied.
There have also been more shop windows broken in the Town.
What do you all think?
Pam.

damage to the local graveyard was terrible, hope someone resolves this mindless act.
I personally find it dificult to contact our own police station by phone or in person.
nothing apears to be done in mablethorpe about the terrible parking problems, only today i had to negotiate around parked cars right up to the traffic lights on high street, with oncoming vehicles nearly coliding with mine. then it took me all of 10 minutes to tavel along Victoria road due to double parked cars. if this matter cannot be sorted then the vandalism problem has no chance ime afraid

This subject comes up at every Police Meeting that I attend and they do issue quite a few parking tickets, especially on the High St, but it only seems to sort a few out. I complained that until the local business men and women were issued with tickets for serial illiegal parking, then maybe others will take notice. The same vehicles are regularly parked illegally and that includes the roads off the High Street. The ELDC Street Scene refuse collecters (Litter etc) now consists of employees who have to do gardening duties as well. Some of these will have the powers to issue tickets for dog dirt and litter offences and will be obliged to inform relevent Depts if there is any vehicle illegally parked. You could attend the next Neighborhood Public Meeting and put it to the police personally but maybe you already do. I will pass on your comments anyway They are also dealing with the anti social behaviour more successfully by involving the offenders parents more directly. Lets hope that works with this mindless bunch too..

even though we dont appear to have much police presence in mablethorpe, the last few days
there seams to be quite a presence of police activity around town. hope its not just a one off though. also the town is coming alive with a few new businesses starting up in the now empty shops. the new paint colour scheme on the sea front looks fab along with the new shop fronts and signs via the grant scheme.

You are right, there have been a few more improvements and let's hope they continue to happen.
There will be some new Councillors so let us hope for a change soon.
Good news about the police, they must have brought another unit in.Let us hope they make a difference .
