I've tried to sign up a couple of times before now. Had a few browser issues I think.
My name is Ian I was born and raised in Mablethorpe. I can well remember running over the old footbridge at the railway station when it was there. I was Chairman of the Model Railway club for a few years and graced the local stage with the Maltby Player, Tennyson Players and Sutton Theatre company too. I emigrated to the USA in 1998 and try to come back every couple of years. I came back to run the first town marathon and I'll be passing though on August Bank Holiday this year.
They say absence makes the hear grow fonder and I'm very fond of my home town

Yay! Hello Ian!

This website is a good way of keeping in touch with the old place if you are in exile. I work in London and live in Herts so I can get back at least twice a year but I get terribly homesick.

Are you planning to run any of the other town marathons? The next one is coming up and I have observed the Tweets of runners on Twitter as they plan their training for it. I can't even run a few feet very well - I have always been uncoordinated when running (imagine a daddy long legs with lead boots).

I hope the weather improves for you this weekend!!

I'm passing on the marathon this year. My marathon running schedule is set about 18 months in advance. I'm pinning my hopes on getting in the London marathon next year for one. I did say to Dave the organiser of the first race that I would be back for the 10th one though.
