Where has all the Developers and housing associations gone. There is large areas of prime development land along quebeck road from the corner of high street mainly used for seasonal car parks and waste land. This land could be developed with ground floor shopping-garageing and so forth. with multi storey flats above mostly with sea views. Sea veiw flats would comand very high premium prices and would attract more business into the town.
I recon the planners would be happy with this type of development, as it could be designed as relatively flood proof. Also improveing this area of unsightly land.as the owners of the beck have improved their property to a very high standard, Im sure they would welcome new development around their premises.

That’s a good question, if you check with ELDC you will find all developments in Mablethorpe have been put on hold, by advice from the environment agency office.
As for the waste land on Quebeck road as I remember, no one seems to know who owns it. Well that’s what I was told by ELDC when I made enquires about the land. Yes your right the owners of the Beck have done a fantastic job of what one could only call an eye saw before well done the beck. I don’t think multy story flats would go down well with ELDC as we are still in danger of flooding. But there is nothing stopping them from landscaping the land on Quebeck Road.
It would also be nice to see the dike-bank on Quebeck road turned into a water way walk. There is a lot that ELDC could do. They just need more forward thinking people at Mamby.
I have to say also, the money.

They should look at what they do in other countries. They build multi storey buildings on top of communal garages so that if there is a flood the only thing you lose is your car. Also good for car security.

Good input to the site today, you have helped to liven it up. Have you joined the www.mablethorpewilldo.com as it could do with some fresh input on Mabo Reviews and Pledges!
Good building idea's although flats in Mabo haven't been selling well. The houses that back on to the Beck, some need a coat of white paint.as they look shabby. Doesn't the Cams Car Park belong to someone on the Fair Ground (Dodgem's)? Also ELDC, Neighbourhood Management and Mablethorpe In Bloom have done joint Litter Picks there in the past. There is a proposed project for development starting at the North End Car Park from the Seal Sanctuary along the dunes. There should be plans at the Libary. If funding is granted, it could start next year. Looks fantastic with natural play area, platforms, raised walkway's and small amphitheatre. I daren't get too excited yet!!!!!!!!! I would still love a Winter Garden with Art Gallery, Museum and Theatre.
