I'm really enthusiastic over the old library being turned in to an arts centre although some people i've spoke to don't see the point, which is a shame but i'm going to use it. A bit of culture instead of another charity shop or pound shop. But i am biased, what does every one else think?

I am glad that the place is going to be opened up . An Arts and Craft Centre with a Hub Cafe is a new idea for Mabo, plus the Meeting/Training rooms upstairs, so obviously, I hope it does work. The other option of a Museum was quite popular as there is so much History in Mabo to be recorded. Some local's think Mabo is not the place for art as B/Beauties includes many forms of Art. I think that whether we approve or not, now we are getting it, we must hope it is a success. It must be monitored and accountable though,to keep everyone happy.

what do you mean by monitored and accountable pam?

What I mean Steve, is that I think there is going to be a committee elected to oversee the running of the place, so to keep all the sceptics happy, let's hope they do a good job. Also, there are obviously going to be grants applied for and I guess some special agreement maybe with the amount of rent charged(as it is a Community project). Let us see how it goes.
