i thought the letter in the leader was a little bit unfair on traders, concerning disability access in to traders shops, i would have thought most traders in the town are like me and rent the premises from a landlord.
I would have thought that it would be the landlords responsibility to make their premises
disabled friendly, before renting the premises out as shops.

I agree that the letter gave the impression that all traders are the same which they are not.You are right in saying that many of you are in rented premises which should already have reasonable access for the disabled. In an ideal world every shop would cater for wheelchairs but unfortunately many units are small any way. I think that a mobile ramp where possible would show some consideration for the disabled where steps are an issue.As someone who has worked with the elderly and disabled including my own mother, I can appreciate both sides.I do however think that to refer to Mablethorpe traders as small minded is a bit harsh although I am sure there may be a few thoughtless exceptions.
