My late father remembered holidaying in the late1920's or early 1930s at 14 Regent Road, Mablethorpe - a bungalow inhabited by a family called Cooling. He thought that the head of the family was a cousin of his maternal grandfather, Rueben Cooling. The old man Cooling worked for the local gas company in Mablethorpe, and his son Albert made and sold ice cream at Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea. The tricycle from which Albert sold his ice cream bore the appropriate legend "Cooling Ices".

Does anyone know of any photos of the "Cooling Ices" tricycle in a book or elsewhere?

I knew an old guy, Maurice Cooling, who lived in the house on the corner of Wellington Road and Queensway

I wonder if there are any business directories of the period in Mabo library....
