Hi Steve, I came to the Meeting on the 12th. with Val Corkell, Karen Froggatt and Chris Flanagan, Graham Cullen and a lady called Margaret who is brilliant at litter picking and volunteering. I had hoped to see you there but hope that you will be at the next Meeting on 1st. Sept at 9:30am at the Library to see how to promote the site at the Bathing Beauties Festival. I do hope that this helps to raise awareness of the Willdo campaign.

hi pam,,last thing i heard about meeting on the 12th which i could not make during the day
was that chris was going to see if it could be done in the evening, thats why the post i made about others coming to the willdos meeting had the date and time omitted, i was waiting to be updated.
i doubt i'll be there at the next one, as it will be the last week of a very bad season and i need to be at the shop put my name down for litterpicking though

We will hand out leaflets at the Bathing Beauties although Val and myself are doing an In Bloom Hut. Hopefully, we will be put near the Council Hut so that we can do both. I am still disappointed about the shortage of pledges on the Willdo site by local businesses etc. Enough people know about the site and what is required but don't think to comment.

Will Members please post something on this site as we don't stand a chance if we don't make the time to do this. Where is everybody?

Hi Steve,
I was referring to the Will Do site but it is also appropriate for this site. I log on only to find no response or continuity on any subject. I do appreciate that people have other things to do, but it only takes a few minutes to post a comment to keep the site going. I did wonder if people are fed up of my comments on most subjects, but I only do it to keep the conversations going. I do try to stay off to see if it makes a difference but until I ask where everyone is, nothing seems to happen. If we can't keep this site alive, our Will Do campaign will have problems with apathy. Please give your honest opinion regarding what I have written as I think it is important even if it offends me!!!!

hi pam the willdo site i think will grow once the launch has taken place as for this site in my opinion its going well considering how new it actually is.
i have said before that forums slow down at times, there are many reasons for this and summer is always a bad time because people are out and about.
winter when everyone is home they become busy.
i get the impression this is your first forum you have joined ( i may be wrong ) i personally am a member of probably 12 forums whose content is of interest etc caricature and cartoon forums at which i post not as regular as i'd like due to other commitments but i do try to flit between all of them. and there is not one forum that does not have a post somewhere stating where is everyone and the forum is dying, and yet they are all still online
it's the way forums go from time to time
i work from home in the winter mainly so i post more- say to a cartoonist forum and then i get frustrated when i don't get a response and i think where is every one (does that sound familiar)
you also say that a post only takes a few minutes to do. That may be the case to you but for others who may not be as quick at typing, like me it takes ages. so i become selective because of limited time to what i respond to. that may be the case for other people
there is nothing wrong with your posts, no one is fed up with your comments or your subjects, they are no better or worse than anyone elses. but if you want to get a good response going post about something that will make people respond because they feel strongly about it. for example lousy councils incompetent police, they seem to get people going.
this post has taken me the best part of half hour to do, and i need to get back to work. so i'm stopping.

Yes it's really quiet around July August time mainly because of their own holidays or if they are working in a tourist resort like Mabo they will be working extremely hard. My friend C. is working 6 day weeks and doesn't get home until 7 or 8 at night and then has spreadsheets to maintain. He wouldn't be doing anything remotely fun until October.

I'm an office worker with liberal employers so I can post almost anytime if I'm not busy (or I'm waiting for the office intranet to blummin' well wake up).

We need to ensnare more members so that it reduces the strain on the original members. I will put on my thinking cap.

I'm a member of so many forums I have lost count. I have the typing version of verbal diarrhea!

Hi Steve and Elizabeth.
For some unknown reason, I've only just found your latest comments. Yes, this is the one and only Forum that I have joined.I cannot imagine joining too many others, I'm not keen on Facebook, due to the trivial and personal comments some people make but I do visit my sons and daughter's sites to see what pictures they have posted. Sometimes I wish I hadn't!!
I think I will look for another local site just to see how it compares to this one. I won't worry so much about this one now that you have both explained that it is common to have quiet spells. I do however, still wish that members of this site would respond to the Will Do site appeal for pledges, (as we three have done). Maybe I am just over enthusiastic!!!
