I went along to the open day yesterday and im absolutely hooked on this brilliant idea. I bike through the industrial estate regulary and I saw the four plots that had been dug, and id been curious since.

I understand that there was very little in the way of promotion for the Open Day, so I wondered if anyone here had heard about it or was considering lending a hand?

advertisement signs will be posted in some shop windows in town and all residents and visitors can be involved in community gardening/planting and harvesting the fruits of their labour. a poster is in the window at the busybee cafe.

There are currently 5 beds down there at the moment, i added the fifth over the weekend, but im hoping someone else will plant in it Im more than happy to keep adding beds too, ive still got a whole bunch of seeds myself that arnt going to grow in a cupboard.

3 beds are filled but that leaves two more still open...... any takers?

In digging all this, Ive broken my fork and my rake. If anyone happens to have a spare fork, or any other useful tools that are free or cheap, please get in touch, either on here or by email at wyrmfyre@hotmail.co.uk. Im also looking for old tyres, lengths of wood and perhaps any other items that might be used to plant in. The tyres especially, as i think they'd make a great herb garden!

I have not yet visited this site but have heard lots about it especially at In Bloom Meetings so I must get up there.
It is good to hear such enthusiasm about new projects so let us all make a point of visiting the site and try to contribute towards it in some way.
Thursday 7th July is Mablethorpe in Bloom Judging day, so let us hope that we do well. The "Seed 2 Plate" project is in the In Bloom Portfolio along with the many projects ongoing in and around Mablethorpe.
