MABLETHORPE'S Sports Relief Weekend took place from this Friday to Weekend, March 21, with three days of energy, entertainment and events. East Lindsey District Council Neighbourhood Management hosted Sainsbury's National Sport Relief Miles on Sunday March 21, and local people showed their support by entering. The Mablethorpe one, three and six Mile races set off from outside the Lifeboat Station on the main promenade. There was a 10:30am start for those participating in the one mile race with the three and six mile race setting off at 11am. The price for entering was £5 for adults, £2 children or £12 for a family entry, which includes two adults and two children From teeny-tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock there's something for everyone on the big day. Best of all, the money raised by getting sponsored and entering will be used to transform lives forever. Hundreds of thousands of people across the country are expected to rise to the challenge at the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile. Comic Relief will spend the money raised through sponsorship helping poor and vulnerable people both here in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.
